Dr. A. S. Dili is an Architect, acquired his B. Arch Degree from College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram (University of Kerala), M. Tech Degree (Building Technology and Construction Management) from Indian institute of Technology Madras and Ph. D degree (Architecture) from National Institute of Technology Calicut. His areas of interest include climate responsive Architecture, passive environment control systems of Traditional Architecture and thermal comfort. He has published many research papers in reputed peer reviewed Journals. He has received the National Professional Excellency Award - for the year 2014 for his research work leading to the novel designing of COOL HOME - the environment friendly Cost Effective House. Articles on this “Cool Home” have been published in many regional and national News papers and Magazines. He has also received the Indian Institute of Architects Kerala State Award for Excellence in Architecture (Commendation) - 2014.

  • Dr. Dili A. S. has developed a cost effective dwelling unit on the terrace of an existing old house (70 years old) with a new technology and light weight structural system. This house is equipped with an effective passive environment control system which makes the interior COOL in all seasons in Kerala’s warm-humid climate. This technology has been derived from his scientific research on the passive environment control system of traditional architecture of Kerala. This technology is also applicable for constructing houses in other warm-humid regions of India.
  • Articles on this Cool Home have been published in many regional and national News papers and Magazines. It has been published as cover story in the official magazine of Council of Architecture (CoA) - Government of India in its February 2013 issue.
