Munavar Fairooz Cheranchery is an Assistant Professor at TKM College of Engineering. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Indian Institute|of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. He has completed his Master’s degree in Civil|Engineering, with a specialization in Transportation Engineering from IIT|Kharagpur. He is currently doing his Doctoral research on the topic ‘Design of|Bus Services with Segmentation for Urban Areas’, under the mega project entitled|‘Future of Cities’, specially focussing on Travel Behaviour Modelling, Simulation|and Optimization of services, and Policy Development. While pursuing the|master’s degree, he has been awarded DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) fellowship to carry|out his master’s thesis work in Germany. He has presented many technical papers in International Conferences|such as Transportation Research Board Conference held in Washington, USA, World Conference on Transport|Research Society in Shanghai, China, etc. He has also published several technical papers in reputed|International Journals like Transportation Research Record-Journal of TRB, Transport Policy, Journal of Transportation Engineering ASCE, etc. Apart from|his Doctoral research work, he has been involved in several other projects sponsored by Government of West|Bengal, such as Improving Driver Licensing System for the state of West Bengal, Development of Drivers|Training Manual which was accepted and published by Government of West Bengal.
