About the Department

The Department of Architecture was set up in the year 1985. The graduate program (B.Arch) was started with an intake of 20 students, which was increased to 80 in 2013. The fundamental thrust of the department has been to emphasize the practical nature of the profession. The Department improves the design skill of students by concentrating in the design methodology. The Course equips the students for the profession with its six months training and tenth semester thesis.

Area of Research

The Department of Architecture is well equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories in Building Science. The laboratories and equipment of material testing are used for research and consultancy projects. The department is presently having research guides under University of Kerala and APJAKTU. The Faculty offer research guidance in the areas of Architecture and Planning. Some thrust research areas include
