The department of Physical Education aims at mass participation of students and staff in Sports and Games. The major objective of the department
1. To improve Physical fitness (Health Awareness)
2. High performance in sports.
3. Recreation
The department of Physical education includes variety of Program for students and staff in sports and games. The college Annual Athletic meet is conducted every even semesters. TKM College of Engineering is sponsoring three All Kerala inter-collegiate championships every year. George Joseph memorial inter-collegiate football tournament (commenced in 1966). Asokan memorial inter-collegiate basketball tournament (commenced in 1968). Kutty Krishnan memorial inter-collegiate Volley ball tournament (commenced in 1967).
The department of Physical Education has been hosting Kerala University inter-collegiate tournaments in almost all disciplines and also hosting district championships with affiliated associations.
Sports infrastructure facilities include football stadium, Cricket practice Nets, Hockey court, Basket ball court, Shuttle badminton court (Indoor wooden court) Volley ball court, Tennis Court, Table Tennis hall and Multi Gymnasium.
Inter branch tournaments are being conducted in all sports disciplines giving opportunity for all students for taking part in sports and Games competition. Students take initiative in organizing hostel wise competitions. The department of Physical education is organizing branch wise tournaments
in modified games such as Fustal, Threes football, Threes Volley ball and Threes basketball.
Students who secure 1st, 2nd and third in the inter-collegiate competition and state championship are eligible for getting grace marks in the University Examination in the Concerned Academic year.
TKM College of Engineering has life membership in the Tennis Club of Kollam District Sports Council, and so the staff and students can enjoy the facilities available there.
Students participating in the inter-collegiate completion will be selected to represent Kerala University in the All India inter-University Championship and are eligible for grace marks in the University Examinations.
