We are thrilled to announce the granting of the 4th patent to Dr. Sadiq A, Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Dean (Industry Connect, Entrepreneurship and Business Development) at TKM College of Engineering. This time, the patent is for a remarkable medical innovation titled โA Device for the Hearing Impaired โ (Patent No. 539389, Application No. 202041001204)
This invention features a hearing aid, that works based on the principle of โelectromagnetic gun induced bone conduction,โ designed to assist individuals with hearing impairments, even those without an eardrum, in experiencing sound. The success of this interdisciplinary invention is due to the collaborative efforts of the innovators from various domains, Akhilesh R, Deepak Krishnan M S and Dr. Sadiq A, along with the invaluable support of professionals of National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) and Dr. John Panicker (Santhwana Hospital), Thiruvananthapuram. Notably, an alternative design of this product can be used by Audiologists to assess the level of deafness as well.
This groundbreaking development has been made possible due to the generous funding from the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE), which further provided a substantial fund of Rs. 50 lakhs for product development.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Sadiq on this remarkable achievement. We are especially proud to highlight that Dr. Sadiq holds the highest number of patents in the college, and the first-ever patent granted in the name of TKM College of Engineering was also developed under his leadership.

โPandemic or not, nothing can stop us from achieving what is meant for usโ is what the outgoing students of TKMCE seem to be saying as TKMCE registered record placements this year despite the raging pandemic.
TKMCE final year students (2017-21) have secured 650+ job offers in 60 companies, enabling almost all the eligible students to get placed. This is 22% higher than previous yearโs numbers despite the crippling impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Without doubt, this is a giant leap for the college.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work put in by our students, the powerful training imparted by the Career Guidance and Placement Unit of TKMCE headed by Dr. K.E. Reby Roy, and the strong network established with the companies.
The prime companies of our country and MNCs have repeatedly placed confidence in our students. Enhanced hiring was observed this year from both usual recruiters and a large number of new recruiters. Notable recruitments were seen in areas like Machine learning, AI, Data Analytics and Manufacturing. Clearly, the TKM campus has been one of the most preferred hiring destinations in Kerala for many of the top recruiters in the country this year. All eligible students of the circuit branches were offered at least one job. A few students aim to pursue higher studies in India/universities abroad, while some others want to attempt Civil Service as a future career option.
The number of students placed, the number of companies that visited, the maximum CTC offered, the highest average salary, etc. are all the highest ever in the history of TKMCE. There are even students who received up to five job offers. The highest CTC offered so far is 18 LPA by an MNC. A total of 77 students received offers worth more than 7 LPA.
The major recruiters who visited the campus this year were MRF, Analog Devices, Oracle, H & R, TCS, Infosys, Byjus, Cognizant, NISSAN, Wipro, Envestnet, SOTI, TISMO, South Indian Bank, Federal Bank, etc. to name a few. The average CTC offered this year is 4.5 LPA. This is a great achievement considering placements are still in progress for this batch of students and we are yet to announce the results of some companies that have already visited the campus.
